Sherri Jones is a highly experienced professional in the field of early childhood education with over 20 years of expertise through direct child care, nonprofit management, Arizona government systems and community partnerships. Sherri has
dedicated her career to improving educational opportunities for young children and advocating for the needs of teachers and families across Arizona’s rural, urban, and tribal communities.
In 2020, Sherri Jones was elected to the Florence Unified School District Governing Board, which has provided an opportunity to demonstrate her commitment to education excellence.
Sherri is actively involved in various organizations that focus on improving governance and community engagement. She serves as a board member for Leading for Change, a leadership development organization dedicated to providing emerging leaders with tools and resources to advance social justice. Additionally, Sherri serves on the Community Action Human Resources Agency board for Pinal County, where she works to address rural community needs and promote social and economic well-being.
Sherri is a dedicated advocate for gender equity and inclusive decision-making processes in the realm of politics. As a Co-Chair for Local Progress's Women's Caucus, she plays a crucial role in creating a space of support and professional development for women in leadership and governance roles.
Sherri Jones has been recognized as a Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Fellow, a prestigious program that cultivates civic leaders in Arizona. Additionally, she has supported several efforts through Race Forward’s national education initiative, Honest Education Action and Leadership (HEAL Together). She is currently participating as a school board member in their inaugural education equity and social justice cohort.
Sherri has a Bachelor of Science in Family Resources and Human Development from Arizona State University.
